I was really looking forward to what we could mix with this tub of red, white, and blue sorbet that Dearest brought home. Unbeknownst to me, these colors map to specific flavors (namely cherry, lime, and blue raspberry respectively). It may be possible that if used as individual components, we could channel these flavors as constructive members of elevated slurry cocktails.
Such masterful creations are beyond us. Instead it felt appropriate to basically splash some alcohol into glasses of ice cream scoops and go absolutely balistic!
In one such display, the broad stripes of that oh-so patriotic country flag shown through like bombs bursting mid-air. Who knew that adding relatively high-proof alcohol (vodka) plus bubbly booze (prosecco) and spicy stuff (Fireball) that we could create a monstrosity so disgustingly tasty, that you have to question how much you trust your eyes to perceive dangers accurately! What was previously just a red, white and blue boozy slushy became what we aptly named, the Firecracker.
In a completely different direction, we created another sweetened disaster. This time, we are particular about which flavors we add (a slight improvement perhaps). Only tart lime and a bit of cherry were mixed with sour lemon juice and green Midori to create... what kind of looks like a polluted iceberg. It tastes great though, and really that's all we strive for.
