“He stood on the sand watching the double sunset as first one and then the other of Tatooine's twin suns sank slowly behind the distant range of dunes. In the fading light the sands turned gold, russet, and flaming red-orange before advancing night put the bright colors to sleep for another day.”
The picturesque locale of Tatooine sounds like a lovely photo op. If I had the chance to go, I'd most certainly try to make my way to the Mos Eisley Cantina, where that spunky space jazz can whisk me away!
This lovely concoction by the Geeky Chef really delivers on presentation (as many of the Star Wars cocktails have!) Sipping this drink off the top, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I enjoy the flavor of tequila and curaçao. Never put those 2 together in my gullet before, and I'm happy with it now. To enjoy this cocktail to its fullest though, one must shoo away the horizons and mix the layers together.
All together, this is a fancy flair-enhanced tequila sunrise. Strong flavor notes emanate from the tequila, the OJ, and the grenadine, with some slightly altered characteristics. The addition of the curaçao and pomegranate liquor make the drink a bit more viscous, and the fruit notes are more tart than if you were to just use the grenadine alone. I personally love how the La Pinta (a tequila-based pomegranate liquor) intermingled here.
