Melodramatic Media Man Makes My Meandering Mind Moor Memetically aMidst Mesmerizing Moderations of Magical Melons.
And what I mean by that is, I'm going to do my best to describe this cocktail that uses cantaloupe in the most entertaining way possible so as to adhere your attention for a brief but spectacular minute of narration.
The Magic Melon cocktail is one that features the truly mesmerizing cantaloupe melon. Within its webbed outer shell, the rind contains a sweet and soft flesh that can be easily blended to produce a pliable puree that adds texture to otherwise dry drinks.
This cocktail uses the puree, dry white wine, vodka, and Sprite and it tastes a bit like a sweet lemonade without the sour. Garnished with a lil basil bunch, you can serve this cocktail in a tall collins glass or a spare boot (preferably made of glass, but I suppose leather will do if that's all the bill you can foot).
I was pleased by how the cantaloupe puree pairs with the Pinot Grigio wine. To me, P-Greeg usually sports flavors of citrus and stone fruits and as such I wasn't expecting for it to go well with the smoother melon flavor. The addition of the lemon-lime soda certainly smoothed the distance between both fruit flavors and of course that vodka did its job to booze it up.
Other uses for cantaloupe melons include freezing the puree into cubes/spheres to cool drinks down and cutting them intricately for garnishes. Cantaloupe also pairs well with other flavors like mint basil, lime and ginger if you're feeling spicy!
