There's a family of drinks out there that are all a part of the same family. The Family, that is.

Each member of the family adheres to their Italian roots by including as a part of their 2-ingredient family, one part Amaretto (the Italian almond nut liqueur). The members of the Family covered by the trivia cards of destiny were as follows:

- The Godchild: Enjoying their almonds with Cream

- The Godmother: Spiking her almond with Vodka

- The Godfather: Lighting his almond with Scotch

- The French Connection: Pairing their almond with Cognac

I got schmoozy and boozy with the final member of the family, the French Connection (in itself, more of a concept than an actual relative). It's a rather short drink, but I've found that anything mixed with Amaretto can become a very approachable drink because it's so darn sweet. The fruitier notes of the Cognac still shine through rather nicely with a 1:1 mixing ratio.
