(8) Arkansas vs (1) Kansas

The fact that Arkansas and Kansas are not pronounced the same is something that I'm just going to have to deal with. The 'R's won this round though, and so they deserve a cocktail. Except there's a bunch of them.

I started my search for this cocktail by going for their mascot, the Razorback or Wild Hog.

There is a cocktail out there calling itself a razorback that combines Kahlua, Vodka, Rum, and Amaretto.

Another site that recollects the most popular drinks by state says that this favorite is made with raspberries, fruit punch, and turbinado sugar.

And another site (specifically a local news source in Arkansas) rejects all reality and says that their drink of choice if beer in a cooler (specifically a nice Busch light) or a bag of wine.

My first reaction was like, "come on y'all, can't we all just get along?" So I decided to take it into my own hands to please everyone (we'll see how that one bites me in the butt one day)

I took the last block on stream to take all the ingredients and ween em down to something that I'd be proud to offer up to the Razorbacks team, or I guess the hungry fans of Arkansas, and I settled on this combo. Light lagers and amaretto go surprisingly well together and a bit of extra fruit in there makes things brighter and more flavorful (and provides a nice bit of color). The contrasting colors of the white foam against the raspberry-red of the transformed beer-amaretto-rum combo feel very Razorback-y to me despite my limited exposure to the basketball sport (or even Arkansas in general).

I'd take one or a few of these if I had the pleasure of traveling to Arkansas one day. One day.
