A purple-hued cream drink in a coupe. Three blueberries stare at you wading slightly below the surface. They are watching you, like the government does on your phone... Or do they???

What comes to your mind when you think of blackberry cream? For me, the first thing was a blackberry pie, I guess. Not too much comes to mind when I think of blackberries honestly. However, being a tech kinda guy, a certain lil' piece of cellular technology wormed its way into my nostalgia-driven neurons.

The BlackBerry, an early smartphone with a lil keyboard, was created by Research in Motion (AKA RIM). I recall it being a bit of a representation of cool-ness back when I was in middle school when I rocked an LG Cosmos (with a sliding keyboard). Considering what we had to work with a name, we created a cocktail for Tomasello's blackberry cream wine with the term flip phone in mind, and put this lil cream flip together in honor of where we've been and where we're going.

A deliciously creamy wine on its own, this wine combined with an egg yolk (oh my, what? yes, because it's a flip. get it?) is greatly accentuated. Egg yolk can often bring a little dryness to a drink, but adding something with that lactose component can really even things out. We also opted for a honey syrup to see what we could do with sweetness in another direction, and we were completely blown away with what we'd created!

There were 2 cream wine cocktails we made during this particular stream, and I'm starting to believe that you can't go wrong, but so far that remains to be seen.
