Chocolate beer, the next segment on our journey through chocolate in cocktails, can take a number of forms. They come as porters or stouts, canned or bottled. And there's brands on both sides of the spectrum making them. Hershey, a chocolate brand, has their own chocolate porter, and Guinness, a beer brand, has their own chocolate stout!

How can you use em in cocktails? One recipe, from the Geeky Bartender takes inspiration from a British sci-fi comedy show, Red Dwarf. The Beer Milkshake is a chocolate-chocolate-chocolate-chocolate milkshake that incorporates chocolate in the form of beer, liqueur, ice cream, and syrup.

Simply blending em all together makes for perfectly sippable and lavish cocoa experience. It's a milkshake with a bunch of chocolate stuff in it so I really didn't expect it to be bad.

The thing that distinguishes this cocoa shake from all the rest though is that inclusion of chocolate stout. The brand I used, Tröegs has a pleasant bitterness to it an excellent malt characteristic that gives this milkshake that classic feel to it.

It's delicious and it looks unsuspecting too. So go out there and treat yourself to a milkshake, any way that you want it. Chocolate, vanilla, ale, stout, milk, yogurt, you name it! Enjoy that milkshake as if you were the last living human in the universe.
